Was that a duck?

By lovelylydie - Posted on 02 December 2008

The first game I played was "Adventure." This game was extremely difficult for me. Once I learned how to kill the duck (and at this i was shocked - was it even a duck?), but the game at first seemed very simple. This simplicity must have come from the simple "look" of the game; the main character, who you were, was a tiny green dot, or whatever color dot you were. I understood the goal of the game was to unlock the gates with the keys (their color coordinating). I played this game, many times, but never got past the second gate.

"Game, game, game and again game" was one of the most depressing games to play. Every time I died, which was a lot, the "you're gonna meet your maker" kept getting to me. The concept of getting through each scene was simple once I understood it, but each scene also had some kind of meaning it was trying to relay. Although one of the scenes was a story, in fact, maybe the whole game was a story. I feel like the creator of this game was just trying to relay a story about life, each scene representing a significant event or generalization of something in life.

McVideogame, seemed to me more interactive, as you were the one running McDonalds--overseeing everything going on within the company. The choices you made in this game, affected the outcome, as in "Game, game, game and again game" there were no possible different outcomes--no matter what our actions were during the game, we all viewed the same ending.
