Good Night and Good Luck
Posted December 8th, 2008 by go ask janeI'm pretty sure this is our last blog for this class - actually, I'm not even sure if this one still counts. But anyway, I just wanted to be all sentimental for a moment and say that I really enjoyed this class and all the people in it.
I hope to see some of you next semester - you all can be quite entertaining.
Good luck with all of your finals and have a happy holiday.

I Want my Reality TV
Posted November 7th, 2008 by go ask janeToday we talked a lot about "reality" TV and if it really is just that. We started talking about the influence television has on us as an audience, but we didn't get into much detail. And that's a shame because I have a really funny anecdote that goes with that concept:
One day in my junior year of high school, I was sitting in newspaper class, not doing what I was supposed to be doing but playing Scrabble with my friend and colleague, Devin. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my abdomen.
"Ow," I said, clutching at my side.

Where the hell is Matt?
Posted November 4th, 2008 by go ask janeI was just thinking about tomorrow being election day, and as much as we all hope that it'll all be over, we all know that it'll be quite some time before all the debates, the animosity, the analyzation and whatnot actually end.
I've never been much for politics. I vote and I have opinions, but I'd rather spend my time reading about Regency-Era England than studying up on the candidates' platforms, so I don't have much to say in the way things will go in tomorrows election. But I do want to share something with the calss that I think needs to be seen.

Thunderpants
Posted September 30th, 2008 by go ask janeI was checking out some more Sammy Sneeze strips (say that five times fast) and I couldn't help but be reminded of one of my favortie films; Thunderpants. Thunderpants is a British film that never came into theaters in America, but is available for sale at your local Wal-Mart.
I only purhcased Thunderpants because I'm madly in love with Rupert Grint, the redheaded kid from the Harry Potter films. And while I didn't expect it to amount ot much, I was pleasantly suprised when it turned out to be actually very good. It's funny and silly and I recommend it to everyone.

Happy Holidays
Posted September 21st, 2008 by go ask janeOne of my favorite things about Little Nemo is the way McCay depicts holidays with the characters' costumes and the scenery in the background of the panels.

Cartoons vs Comics
Posted September 8th, 2008 by go ask janeSo in our last class, we were discussing whether or not "Vacation Time" was actually appropriate for children, what with all it's blocked out swear words and violent forest fire scenes. It got me to thinking about the cartoons that kids watch these days.

Passage
Posted August 28th, 2008 by go ask janeAlright, so this is my first blog for Art of Literature class.
Anyway, I played Passage and at first I didn't quite get it. I'm thinking that all of my efforts were supposed to be focused on turning on all of those fountains, but the first time I played it, I spent all of my time trying to figure out what I was looking at.
