Beginning on page 339 in House of Leaves, Mark Danielewski describes how Navidson attempts to save everyone in the house. Navidson shows he is "one tough fucker," as he carries his unconscious wife out of the house despite taking a major hit to his shoulder. He sprints back into the house to acrobatically save Reston. When he saves Reston, both discuss how it seemed like it took forever and the distant that Navidson had to go seemed like miles. However, upon reviewing the Hi 8's video footage, Navidson appears to make his leaps instantly and on top of that the distance seemed exponentially smaller. Once Reston is taken outside, Navidson makes one more trip into the house to save his daughter and brother, Tom. Tom heroically grabs Daisy and gives her to Navidson, but in the process is caught in the house. Tom is gruesomely killed right in front of Navidson and falls into the abyss where the floor used to be. Tom's death is foreshadowed earlier in the section when him and Navidson joke how the floor is always there for you. It seems that before being exposed to this book, I was living under a rock. It seems that House of Leaves is everywhere! Google, youtube, forums....
When I was searching for extra information about the book, I ended up wondering a couple times if maybe, this story was truly based on a real "Navidson Record." I couldn't help but consider the possibility. After assuring myself that the book was strictly fiction, I realized that it is incredible the amount of time and thought some people put into this book. It's truly fascinating.The genre, the plot, and the typography prove to be, not only unique, but also appealing for people that are looking for an interesting read. Some trying to create their own movie trailers and such can be seen all over the internet. One of my favorites is included in the link below.

The way the creator of this video mixed the characters, with the pages of the book, and the role of each within the actual plot was really great. It almost made me want a real movie to be made. Reading some of the comments below the video, it became evident that I wasn't the only one that thought of the idea.
